Sonia and her husband have 3 boys aged 7, 9 and 12 although often they act
more like 2, 2 and 2. I blog at Life Love and Hiccups and I
also run my own Social Media & Brand Development Business.
Where do you reside?
The hubby, offspring and I live on the
Northern Beaches of Sydney although we like to fantasise about one day living
in Byron Bay.
What is special about where you live?
It is the people we have around us –
family and friends that make this place so special. It is where both my husband
I grew up so we have deep roots here. The beautiful beaches we are blessed with
make it pretty damn special too.
How long have you had your business/blog/job?
My blog has been going now for 2 and a
half years and my Social Media and Brand Development business since I escaped
the Corporate world in June last year.
What is your favourite childhood memory?
Oooo now that is tough as my memory gets
a little foggy at times –that makes me sound super old doesn’t it?
I think my favourite memories would have
to involve our yearly camping holidays to Lake Conjola.
What are some memories that you like to create for
your children?
I am forever trying to ensure that my
kids have only the fondest of memories to carry with them. I am big on creating
traditions for us and using simple everyday events to create memories. For
example; Friday night movie nights with Snuggles on the couch, popcorn and hot
chocolate. Spontaneous dinners where we throw our dinner into a picnic basket
and head to the beach or the park to eat it. Christmas and Easter are a busy
time as far as traditions go but I will pretty much use any excuse to do
something special for the kids.
Who inspires you and why?
I am inspired by so many people it would
be impossible to pick one. Good souls inspire me – individuals with big hearts
who go out of their way to show kindness to others, they inspire me the most.
Describe your perfect day?
Oh now this is just teasing. My perfect
day would involve a morning with no arguing between the kids, a quiet leisurely
breakfast followed by a day at the beach. Then to finish of the night there would
be dinner with the family at one of our favourite beachside restaurants … oh
and a little shopping thrown in there certainly wouldn’t hurt.
Favourite holiday destination?
Bali
or Byron Bay. Please don’t make me choose between them.
What are some of your favourite items that you could
not live without? Beauty products/appliance…
I am inclined to say my iPhone as it
allows me to run my business from wherever I choose to be, but that sounds
pretty lame that I rely on a phone that much doesn’t it? I also love my hair
straightener, my eyebrow pencil (I suffer from over plucked eyebrows from my
younger days) and my iPhone … again… but for the music I have on it.
What is your favourite product for kids and why?
Their bikes and skateboards as they get
them off their electronics and outside into the fresh air.... and nothing to do
with the fact that they leave them exhausted and with no energy to fight....
What is one product you have bought that you did not
need but just had to have?
Oh man – I could list so many as I am
always buying crafting stuff that I think I will one day use but they then sit
in my craft cupboard along with all the other bits I haven’t figured out how to
use.
Your favourite children’s fashion label?
Cotton on Kids because their stuff is so
damn cute and affordable.
What is your family’s favourite meal?
Sushi / Sashimi homemade or shop bought
– it doesn’t matter we will wolf it down either way and we can demolish a
bucket of prawns like no man’s business.
What is your go to mummy uniform?
Can I say Pyjamas as I could stay in
them all day if I was given the chance? Otherwise it is a little cotton shift
dress in Summer or jeans and a cardie in winter.
What is the best thing about being a mother?
The cuddles you get – you know those
ones where they wrap their arms and legs around you and melt into you. They
fill me with so much love and wonder and joy and God Damn they are the best
thing in the world.
Favourite place to shop? What are you loving right
now?
I love to shop online including at Down
That Little Lane as that website
is loaded with an insane amount of gorgeousness. I also love Birdsnest for
clothing, Freedom & Ikea for Furniture and Little Paper Lane and Typo for
stationery porn.
This is my most fave photo as those
people right – they are my whole world, my everything.
