I love scarfs and this look with a messy chignon is just perfection.

The messy chignon was all over the spring runways (like Marc by Marc Jacobs and Dolce&Gabbana, above). Guido, the Redken creative consultant who created it, gave SELF magazine the how-to -

1. Work a foam volumiser into damp hair for texture and grip. Blow dry brushing hair back away from the face.
2. Add a chic head scarf. With (now fluffy) hair down, place scarf or headband about an inch from hairline. Tie or position at nape of neck.
3. Make a loose ponytail, fold it up, then twist and pin to scalp in a few arbitrary places, creating a disheveled swirl. It shouldn't have a definite shape. Set with hairspray.
