HOW TO WEAR SHORTS
There are a few items that I am not a huge fan of shopping for and one of them used to be shorts. I remember when I was a teenager - I hated my legs - I hated the exposure - I was not a fan of baring my legs much at all. A little ironic I guess as my school dress was short and yet I was not comfortable wearing shorts.
NOW I love shorts - I love a printed short. I have changed and I have quite a collection in my wardrobe. As long as they are not overly short shorts ...... I wear them and love wearing them. Call it maturity or call it feeling comfortable in my own skin. I am on the other side of 40 and I often think if others can wear shorts then i can get away with it too .... cellulite and all. I am often told what great legs I have which has encouraged me to wear shorts. But I am fussy, you see ..... I like quality and they need to be tailored and comfortable.

REAL LADIES GUIDE TO WEARING A MIDI SKIRT
If you follow me on facebook or instagram you will know that I love a good midi-skirt or any skirt for that matter. You see I love dresses and skirts and except for jeans I am not much of a pants wearer. I love the femininity of a dress or a skirt and wearing them makes me feel classy and a little sophisticated.

MONDAY STYLE FILE \\ STATEMENT NECKLACES
Today I am super excited as I have my first "Styling by V" client. A lovely 27 year old with a little 4 year old boy who has recently been diagnosed with MS. I am super excited to meet my client face to face, to help her feel better about herself and to feel proud of who she is and look great at the same time.
One item that I just love to wear often are my new statement necklaces from Blush & Co. Owned and curated by the lovely Jacqui from Adelaide. I actually have three Blush & Co pieces and I alternate them often to add a little sparkle to my look.

THAT 70'S VIBE
Do you feel that ABBA vibe? ABBA were famous for their classic 70's vibe and 70s style. I have a huge appreciation for ABBA as they were the first vinyl album I bought and cherished. The 70's have made a huge comeback, it is one of the biggest trends for the spring/summer 15/16 season. I am loving all the suede accents and lace detail, fringing and chic denim styles coming through. Bohemian relaxed styling for the spring/summer days ahead.

5 SIMPLE WAYS TO STYLE LEGGINGS
Leggings are a favourite option for many when the cooler weather arrives, easy to wear and comfort chic when styled appropriately. Personally I think leggings are an essential for every closet, BUT you have to know how to style them without revealing every little crease of your being. I find the thicker ponte style work well with a better fit and look. Ponte is a double knit fabric which is thicker with stretch for comfort. Better quality than other forms of legging material.

TIPS ON LAYERING TO STAY WARM THIS WINTER
Layering is the wearing of light weight garments one on top of the other to create a fashionable ensemble to provide warmth with out too much bulkiness or heaviness.
Boy has it been cold, although the winter sun is perfect to stay warm during the day. Layering is key without feeling too much bulk. Choosing light layers with heavier fabrics on top. Layering is the perfect way to stay warm this winter. It has been stated that the past few weeks have been the coldest here in Sydney for the past 17 years (that is my youngest daughter's lifetime).

HOW TO WEAR THE FAUX FUR VEST
Yesterday I spoke about the sleeveless coat today I would like to introduce the faux fur vest. An essential for winter, without loads of layers. Do you overheat easily, like me? I overheat very easily so layering is key for me every winter.
The faux fur vest has been in my wardrobe for a number of years now. Choosing the right one for me was not easy. I tried on so many and was not happy until I purchased one from Forever New.
The faux fur vest is stylishly chic with a touch of glam. Best of all cruelty free. This piece of statement faux fur is totally on trend adding a little elegance while keeping you toasty without the extra bulk.
You can work the faux fur vest in the office over black pants or a pencil skirt and a black long sleeve top with heels or ankle boots.
For evening wear the vest with leather pants or coated pants with a silk blouse and your favourite jewels.
A casual daytime look team with a striped top and jeans.
The faux fur is super cozy, easy to wear and comfortable, adding a glam feel with a look that is effortlessly pulled together.

5 things - VALENTINES DAY
Enjoy your Valentine's Day everyone. May your day be just as perfect as you would like it to be. I like to make the day a little special with my daughters though tomorrow will be a little difficult as they are both busy. One is going out with friends and the other will be working. Maybe I should do something just for me during the day - Hmmm I will have to put my thinking cap on.
Five little things that make me happy - shades of pink.

how to have MORE STYLE AT HOME
I have vowed to not wear tracksuits unless I am not well or exercising (even then I will probably wear leggings). I have kept to my promise over the last few years and I rarely have days where I feel frumpy. It can be hard to break away from the tracksuit. The cold weather calls for comfort and warmth. Wearing a tracksuit can leave you feeling miserable, as I occasionally felt. Putting in the effort and choosing clothes you love will put a smile on your face and then you will feel happy.
The idea is to be happy, look and feel great as well as comfortable.
- Buy basics in a few different colours and variations. Do not forget singlets or camis for extra warmth and layers.
- Leggings are so now and look great on everybody as long as the tops are worn long enough to cover bits you do not want to show.
- Tops with v-necks, round necks in a variety of colours to alternate your look. Try the basic block colours in neutral hues as well as few happy and bright colours. Do not forget the flattering horizontal stripe.
- Knits of all kinds, long line cardigans and chunky jumpers, in a few different colours and with embellishments as well. Anything that makes you feel happy and looking your best. Try and stick with natural fibres as they last longer and look and feel great.
- Jeans that are flattering for your figure and hat you feel comfortable in. Go for a dark denim, classic black and a colour.

- A button up shirt which is ideal for layering and you can wear it unbuttoned as well. Go for a neutral shade in white, cream as well as a chambray and a navy. Oh and do not forget a print as well.
- Wear your going out clothes at home. Wear the dress or top and skirt with tights and add a few bits of jewellery. spray on you favourite fragrance, put on some gloss and a little mascara. Anything to make you feel your best.
- Add a scarf and woo hoo! sexy you is ready to take on the day happier and ready no matter what tasks come your way.

This is what I do and I rarely feel frumpy or unhappy because of what I am wearing. Just because you are staying in this does not mean you cannot be stylish and look your best......does it?

a gentle reminder to FIT YOUR BRA
These tips are vital for a perfect fit bra every time. Remember to adjust your bra straps. My daughters come to me every now and again for me to adjust their bras.
Follow these tips to keep the fit perfect...
- Tighten the straps so they fit snugly on your shoulders.
- Make individual adjustments for each cup. It is common you may find one strap more tight than the other.
- Look in the mirror to make sure the bra fits smoothly and your breasts are inside the cups. Your bra straps should lie flat against your body.
- Baggy cups are a sure way of letting you know that you have the wrong size. Try going down a cup size. If your cups are creasing around the nipple the you need to try going down a back size to pull the fabric taut.
- The main support from the bra is the band, so make sure that you are wearing the right band size. If the band size is too big then the straps will take the weight and dig in causing discomfort.
- Spilling over the top or sides of your bra does not make your breasts look bigger. Try the next size up for a better fit.
- Look in the mirror to make sure the bra fits smoothly and it is all the same level all the way around. If the bra is riding up you will probably need a smaller band size.
- Your bra band should feel tight and firm with enough space to insert two fingers under the back band and one under the front at the centre.
- Fasten a new bra on the loosest hook as a bra band can grow due to wash and wear. When you buy a bra make sure that it fits properly on the loosest hook as you may need to tighten with wear.
- Make sure the underwire is sitting flat against your body and not digging in.
- To make sure the bra fits properly with the right shape try it under a fitted t-shirt. Look at yourself from all angles and make sure you have an uplifted look with no bulging.
